Why is the Flare charcoal basket made of cast iron?
Cast iron is virtually indestructible and ideal for use in charcoal baskets. Thanks to a special coating, the basket is protected against corrosion. The material stores heat excellently and distributes it evenly over the entire basket, allowing the coals to continue burning efficiently and evenly. Another feature of the cast iron is its high weight, which gives the Flare an extremely low center of gravity and makes it very stable against tipping over. Even if it is accidentally knocked over, it straightens up again and the coals remain in the basket.
